CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

    • People entering the building during non-competition times are to report to the administration office.
    • NO bouncing any ball in foyers, front/rear.
    • Only rubber soled footwear allowed on playing surface, Basketball/Netball runners.
    • Persons under the age of 14 must be actively supervised by a parent or guardian aged 18 years or over at all times.
    • Bookings made online or on-site must be made by persons aged 18 years or over.
    • Patrons are advised that the Stadium is fitted with electronic surveillance 24/7 and patrons may be filmed in any area of the Stadium.
    • Patrons enter the Stadium at their own risk. Altona Sports Centre has no liability whatsoever for any damaged, lost or stolen property nor for any other loss, damage or injury suffered by any patron.
    • No balls allowed into the stadium during Basketball/Netball competition time on Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday. This is an attempt to stop all balls coming into the stadium, which is an OH&S issue, as these stray balls unsupervised end up disrupting games and putting players in jeopardy of injury.
    • There will be no tolerance for players, spectators not involved in the competition games, stepping on court to have shots during breaks in games, and this includes, TIMEOUTS, START OF GAMES, AND ALL HALF TIME BREAKS.
    • Prams, pushers, and strollers are not to block thoroughfares.
    • Any spilt water should be reported to canteen staff ASAP.
    • In addition to the matters set out above, the Sports Centre may exercise any rights granted under the Major Sporting Events Act 2009 (Vic) or other legislation or regulations pertaining to the Stadium.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

The following items are not permitted in Altona Sports Centre:

    • Illegal substances including controlled, dangerous, illicit drugs and vapes
    • Flares, fireworks, smoke bombs or any other incendiary devices
    • Firearms and explosives, chemical, radioactive or biological substances
    • Laser lights
    • Alcohol
    • Animals (other than Assistance Dogs)
    • Bicycles, scooters, skateboards and rollerblades/skates
    • Professional cameras including; DSLR, mirrorless or any cameras with a detachable lens (some events prohibit the use of all cameras, or flash photography), without permission.
    • Large flags/banners with handles exceeding 1.0m
    • Unauthorised advertising material or flyers.
    • Umbrellas, to be left at the door.
    • No other balls/toys allowed in Stadium.

RELEASE FOR PARTICIPATION IN EVENT OR ACTIVITY

In exchange for participation in Casual Shooting, Court Hire, ASC run programs and/or Pickleball (the ‘Activity’), organised by the Altona Sports Centre located at 290 Queen Street, Altona, 3028 in the State of Victoria (‘Releasee’), I hereby agree as follows: 

  1. I understand that participation in the Activity involves inherent risks, including risk of physical or psychological injury, pain, suffering, illness, disfigurement, temporary or permanent paralysis and/or death, and I assume all related risks and voluntarily participate in the Activity.
  2. I consent to the Releasee, its agents, employees, representatives and coaches, administering or arranging for appropriate medical treatment in circumstances where it is necessary and in the event of emergency, I authorise the Releasee to exercise its judgment in the treatment by a medical authority and I consent to pay for all costs associated with any such treatment.
  3. I acknowledge, agree and represent that I understand the nature of the Activity. I am in good health and in proper physical condition to participate in the Activity and any related activities. I further agree and warrant that if at any time I believe conditions to be unsafe, or my physical condition to not be adequate, I will immediately discontinue further participation in the Activity.
  4. I, and anyone claiming on my behalf, release and forever discharge the Releasee and its affiliates, successors and assigns, officers, employees, representatives, partners, agents and anyone claiming through them (collectively, the ‘Released Parties’), in their individual and/or corporate capacities from causes of action of any nature and kind, known or unknown, which I may have against the Releasee or any Released Parties arising out of or relating to any injury, loss or damage to person and property that may be sustained as a result of participation in the Activity (‘Claims’).
  5. I agree to indemnify the Releasee against any and all claims, actions, lawsuits, damages and judgments, including legal fees, arising out of or relating to my participation in the Activity.
  6. This release for my participation in the Activity (‘Release’) shall not be in any way be construed as an admission by the Releasee that it has acted wrongfully with respect to me or any other person, that it admits liability or responsibility at any time for any purpose, or that I have any rights whatsoever against the Releasee.
  7. This Release shall be binding upon the parties and their respective heirs, administrators, personal representatives, executors, successors and assigns. I have the authority to release the Claims and have not assigned or transferred any Claims to any other party.
  8. The provisions of this Release are severable. If any provision is held to be invalid or unenforceable, it shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision.
  9. This Release constitutes the entire agreement between the parties and supersedes any prior oral or written agreements or understandings between the parties concerning the subject matter of this Release. This Release may not be altered, amended or modified, except by a written document signed by both parties. The terms of this Release shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Victoria.
  10. I have carefully read and fully understand all the provisions of this Release and am freely, knowingly and voluntarily entering into this Release.
